Direct activity — social and individual — has been turned from a "direct action" grassroots and non-hierarchical form into one serving the generalized political-economy, based in funded/propertied/waged/salaried "whored" activity, managed by those very controllers (political-economic "pimps") and processes at the root of all current forms of alienation.
Of course, I am speaking of the social relations of [re]production, that whole of "arrangements" wherein all social wealth, knowledge, accesss, and possibility of use of society itself is directed and moved.
Today, as yesterday, and the day before, a self-appointing, self-anointing, and self-serving few — with a psychopathic, profiteering, and parasitic "nature" — are in charge of Nature and mediate between us and it, us and ourselves, us and our very activity (even aiming its colonization modus operandi down to our cellular and DNA levels). The ecology movement dared to expose them and was destroyed with Capital social relations; in terms of annihilation or inversion, it was "recuperated". Its inverted (that is, whore-ified) form, "environmentalism", services the vaulting few, as it "greens" the landscape in terms of "greenbacks".
"Environmentalism" turned the movement from a directly-democratic unity of theory and deeds into one whose ideology, "green", is deciphored in a trickling top-down set of "options" one can pay for (and pay more for) from corporations who — as State-empowered "legal" entities able to immigrate and emigrate anywhere, at any time, for any Capital[colon]izing reason — have been given more power than human beings by the "State" apparatus (from a self-selected "elite" seizing and owning those key global corporate entities (monetary, trade, energy, transportation, communication) and force-feeding down to the federal level, and then down to the state level, and then down to the county level, and then down to the municipal level, and then down to the citizenized/taxpayer level).
The inversion was easy to see for those with their eyes open:

The inversion was easy to see for those with their eyes open:
- the self-perpetuating "crisis" of political-economy turned
humans from savers to causes of the "crises" deflected into an abstracted Nature; - Nature itself was seen as a potential weapon to be used for the purpose of colonization and subjugation;
- the ideology of primitivism was designed by funded careerized & lifestylized politicos, who related to themselves and others as capital, seeking all humanity ever-formable to Capital's expansion-contraction needs as recyclable commodities;
- adhoc versions of hierarchy allowed the Capitalized to circumvent democratic process, and thus, to direct and control any real desire to totalize human activity with its world, turning and returning all decision-making processes for Capital;
- the imposition of the center need for funding gave reliance upon the Rockefeller foundations' funds as prima facie motivation for all "public" [inter]activity;
- the "smile" and "orgasm" left the face of ecology and became rigidified — the constrained movements and the suffocated moans — of a whoring 'environmentalism".
